This is where I attempt to write humorously about my life, motherhood, military spousedom, travel, food, health, beauty, style, design, books, music and women’s issues.

I’m a self-proclaimed bohemian gypsy chic, writer, teacher, activist, vintage buyer and military spouse currently residing in San Antonio, Texas with my rockstar husband Tim, my beautiful daughter Juniper, and our dogs Bert & Wallace.

I enjoy travel, a good book and cooking a great meal to share with friends. I’m addicted to coffee and training (and/or not training) for endurance events that I may (or may not) compete in. I’m a mountain girl at heart. And I love to ski.

I have a passion for all things vintage.
And have an unnatural affinity for Detroit. Even the American cars & Eminem.

People always ask me where I’m from which, for me, is a difficult question to answer. Are you asking me because you think I sound weird? (I’m a military brat & have created my own mutt dialect). Are you asking me because I look different? (I am half Korean and half Cracker. My Crackerness consists of French Canadian – with emphasis on the French, Irish and Scottish). Are you asking me because I smell weird? (That’s because I just got back from a run).

Because I grew up moving from one part of the world to the next, in short 3-year bursts, I tend to get restless every two to three years and look for change or a new challenge. I am no longer a military brat, but am a mother to ~~one~~ two.

Baby Junie was born in 2008, three years after I married my beautiful, rockstar husband, Tim.
I say beautiful because he is–inside and out. I say rockstar not because he can sing, but because he is a total stud.
And little baby peanut is currently nestled in my belly, growing & performing all kinds of tricks that he or she will show us upon his or her arrival.

We are currently stationed at Lackland A.F.B. in San Antonio, Texas.

Here, I get the colossal gift of working from home, which means I get to have pillow fights with my daughter during my coffee breaks.
I write. I teach. And I’m an advocate for women’s/girl’s issues, feeding the hungry, and clean water.

Currently, all of my mojo is being channeled into my newest endeavor, femiNEST™ : where feminism + motherhood coexist. More on that real soon. I’m also a co-founder of the Zoetica Project, a 9-month long, workshop-based women’s organization designed to empower mothers, through the creative process, to fulfill their life goals. It culminates in an exciting art show, highlighting all of the participant’s work and their metamorphosis.

When I’m not doing any of the above, I read. A lot. I have somewhat of a reading addiction. I also like dancing with my daughter. And making oogly-googly eyes at my husband.

Before this, I was an English teacher.
