One of my new year's resolutions this year is to get back into the groove. Literally.
I've been involved with music since I was three, when my parents enrolled me into my very first piano lesson.

I'm not quite sure when my listening to music waned, but regretably, it did.

I remember one of the many reasons I fell in love with Tim was because he was always introducing me to new music – requesting me to "just close [my] eyes and listen." I loved that feeling – like he was singing the song for me, through the artist – using him/her as a vessel.

Sadly, those moments have waned too.

Interestingly my love for music has morphed into this weird disdain for it. Seriously.  Since I've had Juniper, finding time for silence is next to impossible, so I find myself turning down the volume, or turning the music off completely.

The relief that I get from silence is wonderful. But I hate that I've excluded music from my life for such a long time. So this year, I'm committing myself to a musical re-immersion.

I've started a little early. I recently came across this newly budding artist – Nicolette Good. She's a local. She describes her genre as folk/indie and her voice has been described as "ear candy".

I hope you enjoy this as much as I do.

Nicolette is awesome. I work in the same office as her, and am fortunate enough to know her through her music and her own cool personality. Glad you like her style!

i loved the write up in sacurrent, *had* to listen. i wish i could go to hear her live tonite, but alas i live the life of a mama without a babysitter. i think the last concert i attended was when i was 8 months pregnant – in some hole, but it was 7mary3 so i battled the hairy-eyeballs and went. even danced.
tim & i *love* indie/folk… looking forward to hearing more from her!
