Did I mention that the three of us went searching for ghosts in the old mining towns of Colorado while we were in Aspen last week?
We visited three ghost towns: Vicksburg, Winfield and Ashcroft.
Vicksburg was spooky. Really very eerie. But no ghosts.
Winfield was cute and sits right at the base of a grand mountain. I can totally see myself moving here to live. Or to hole-up for a spell. And? No ghosts. Just memories (according to a posted sign).
Ashcroft, just outside Aspen, was amazingly beautiful and I would totally drop everything, pack up my cuss and build myself a home there immediately (if not sooner) . . .
if it weren't for two things:
1. It's preserved under the U.S. Register of Historic Places
and . . .
2. The ghost.
. . . or maybe I'd move there because of the ghost.
{wink} Happy Halloween!
