FITTED SHEETS SUCK TO FOLD.
Many moons ago some one showed me how to fold a fitted sheet. I was FLOORED.
There's an actual way to fold these suckers? I mean, for years I had been folding my parents' sheets by not so much folding them, as just kinda folding them into this ball of fitted sheet bundle of madness thing. I was amazed at the ease with which this person turned a bundle of chaos into a perfectly neat and pretty little square. I think I might have cried.
I have tried to emulate that very ease for years. Seriously. Every time I went to fold a fitted sheet, I tried with all my might to do exactly as she said, but always failed.
Until last week when everything just kind of clicked together.
The narcisist in me happened to tweet out my triumph and I was surprisingly bombarded with replies and DM's (direct messages) for the secret.
Seriously. I think it was like my most popular tweet.
Apparently there's a demand for this particular how-to. And because my mother taught me how to share, I will…

I had no idea you didn’t know how to do this!
I generally just fold the corners into each other – none of the pinchy stuff, but same result and eventually they all end up on each other rather than just with the sheet folded in half. then yeah, just smooth out and fold from there until its a manageable size that fits well into your linen closet.
I have to ask – do you put your flat sheet on “upside down” so that the two “right sides” of the flat and fitted sheet are against each other and therefore both showing when the bed is turned down? Do you fold your flat sheet so that making the bed this way is unavoidable?
Ok, so I’ve taken bedmaking to an all new level of OCD. I get it from my mother….

amanda, those are questions that are so beyond me, i can’t even begin to think about how to answer them… except for very quickly: hell no!
i wanna see you person so i can throw down some Blue… (thanks also for your sweetness)
please tell me you don’t iron your sheets, girl…
(btw, it was the all four corner together thing that i’d been taught all those years ago, but i still have not mastered that particular fold… but trying to recreate it is how i finally got to my version)
